Is your diploma of early childhood education and care  provider passionate about kids? It can be difficult to tell sometimes, because they will most likely put forth the best show they can when you are observing them. However, there are some key questions that just might indicate whether they value kids or whether they value the money. These include questions about their reasons for becoming a child care provider, their views on early childhood education, and the staff turnover rate.

Question #1: Why did you become a child care provider?

The reason behind a diploma of early childhood education and care  provider entering the profession is probably the most revealing. Look for answers that involve a love of children and a fascination with early childhood education. However, if the provider mentions the hours or being able to work a job that allows them to be their own boss, warning bells should be ringing. It is not that it cannot be a factor, but it should never be the primary reason given.

Question #2: What is the best part of your day?

At the heart of this question is what makes the child care provider happy. Are they enthusiastic as they speak about their day? Answers that center on interacting with children through play or planned lessons indicate a high quality provider. However, if the answer is a flippant "Nap time," this might indicate a provider who is tired of children and seeking a rest. A lack of energy tends to indicate a lack of passion for children.
